Poly(bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene) (PTFEPz) is one of the most well-known phosphazene compounds. PTFEPz is a white (can sometimes have a yellowish tint) solid material. It is stable up to 350°C, and its glass temperature Tg = –65°C, mesomorphic transition temperature T1 = 75°C, melting point Tm = 220°C.

Poly(bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene) is highly resistant to aggressive media.

Moreover, PTFEPz obtains perspective piezoelectric properties and the ability to change its refractive index in response to an applied electric field (Kerr effect).

Poly(bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene) may be used for:

  • hydrophobic and superhydrophobic films and coatings production
  • polymeric piezoelectric materials development [1]
  • highly-resistant plastic components production
  • biomedical applications
